Over 100 million Americans have tried it at least once, and now 13 states have legalized medical marijuana. Here is my, “contrary to popular belief” list 1. Mounting evidence has shown it is far less dangerous than alcohol and cigarettes, legal medicines, and even caffeine, yes thats right you can OD on coffee. 2. No person has ever overdosed on marijuana ever, not once in the history of the world. It is simply not toxic enough. 450000+ die each year from tobacco cigarettes, while a good 50000+ die from alcohol overdose. 3. Those high on marijuana are less likely to commit violent acts, not more likely. In fact, I watched a video on youtube about a British test where a man was given a marijuana joint to smoke and then was given a driving test. He performed better high. Marijuana actually makes you far more cautious 4. IT DOES NOT LEAD TO LUNG CANCER. A natural grown plant simply is not toxic enough to cause lung cancer 5. It does not kill brain cells. In fact, studies are showing that it may in fact STIMULATE brain cells. Read about it here www.sciencedaily.com 6. It is about as addictive as a peanut, and there are no withdrawl symptoms. I havent smoke in, lets see, one month tomorrow, and I have felt nothing wrong with me. 7. The gateway theory is false. If you watch Penn & Tellers bull****, numerous studies have shown that alcohol and cigarettes are far more likely to lead to hard drugs. I smoke weed nearly everyday. I work at a large warehouse and work 50 hours a week, my productivity is at 110%, I’ve only missed 2 days since employment (due to the flu), I’m an equipment driver and I have never had an accident, and I make no errors.
I smoke and drive even and I haven’t had one accident or a single ticket, not even close calls.
And once again, I smoke weed nearly everyday.

Drug prohibition will come to be seen has one of the largest injustices of the 20th & 21st centuries.
The fact that we have begun to treat perpetrators of injustice with such benign tolerance instead of the vicious intolerance they deserve is absolutely detestable. Equally shameful is the fact that the people and organisations responsible for the horrors of prohibition will get to walk away from the mess without being held accountable.

Cannabis: 0 (ever!)
Instead of giving away billions to inhuman drug cartels, let’s re-legalize a substance safer than alcohol in that: it’s not physically addictive, it has ZERO recorded overdoses, may REDUCE instances of certain types of cancer & increase life expectancy (Journal of Cancer Prevention Research, 2009), & is AMA classified as medicinally important.
I am from Idaho originally and when I go to vist home I would for sure visit Cali and Oregon just the same as when I went to Amsterdam for the first time.

If we account our countries sacred doctrines in which examples of such would be the constituion and the decleration of independence then marijuana should be legal. The decleration of our independence explicitly states that we our entitled to our pursuit of hapiness, what if marijuana makes a citizen happy? Do they not reserve the rite to be happy? This prohibition is not a matter of marijauna being bad or good for you but rather about wether our civil liberties are still entact.
