Drug abuse and addiction are issues that concern me greatly. Though we do not agree on this issue, I appreciate the opportunity to respond. @Noahthebeast09 There will always be a demand, prohibition just changes the supplier. It should all be legal. And I dont want to hear about, “Oh if its legal, the kids will get their hands on it”… Wrong! Kids get drugs easier than booze and cigarettes which are legal… Who is anybody to tell you what you can put in your own body?

I’m sorry, but anybody that goes out, wastes 30 bucks for a small amount of a plant that they are just going to go home and smoke it is completely irresponsible and no matter how upstanding or responsible the person is in all other aspects, altering ones mind for personal gratification that costs way more than it could possibly be worth is the antonym of responsible.
marijuana will mot likely be legal within the next 10-20 years…. its just the matter of fact that we have these 40-50 year olds that grew up with their parents saying Marijuana was the worst thing out there. Its actuly safer than beer ect. and cigerets so now its really just time to play the waiting game

Personally, I doubt I would ever take marijuana. Still, I see no point in it being illegal. Pot is a herb. Alchohol is more of a problem than pot ever was. U.S. laws are idiotic.

wanted to add something, if you could grow your own if it were legal, they would put a tax on your plants, and you would need a permit which would cost a lot. look at california for example, and the price boost for weed look at amsterdam, it’s fucking expensive, like a gram for 20 bucks and no deals for example a set for 45 $ like it is here in canada, if you want a set, that shit would cost you 140 bucks in am, imagine the prices if it were legal….
all the potheads yell legalize weed but what they don’t realize is that if it were legal, it would be more expensive, with taxes and shit added too. and honestly, smoking in the street isn’t hard to do…legal or not, nobody gives a fuck most of the time if you’re smoking a joint in public, it’s not like we can smoke indoors anymore anyways. yes there would be pros to legalization such as more variety but legal or not, weed will always be easy to obtain here in canada and u.s.

I meant thats why these feds and what-not don’t go after these users because what is a man that has spent his whole “wealth” on his nasty addiction worth chasing after? So they could put him in jail? It costs money to keep people in jail.
@dirtyjew1974 you must not know any responsible smokers. there are a lot of us in this country that enjoy smoking, however, we do it after our work day is over. there are a lot of us that enjoy smoking, yet have no want or need to be stoned from the moment we wake. it’s no different than someone that comes home and has a few cocktails or beers after work. this is a stressful world and people should be free to responsibly do what makes their days a little easier. good day to you!
sure, go on and make it legal. weed smokers have no enthusiasm or drive so while they stay unemployed from laying around smoking pot because they cant be bothered to work then the ones that wanna work will get jobs because their will be less competition to get the jobs. so economically its good for the sober people that are responsible and need the work, makes sense to me!

Well you say let them make their own decision it’s their body, but these hard drugs are increadibly dangerous and lead to more violence, the last girl I was with was abused by her former boyfriend, heroin IS worth going after, we just need to stop trying to go after small unimportant drugs like marijuana.
We need to treat heroin use as a public health issue and not a criminal issue, I wouldn’t favor prison for users, but higher penalties for dealers/traffickers.
